The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is one of five major interdisciplinary schools within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Surrey. We have ambitious research and teaching plans under the university strategy “Forward Thinking. And Doing” to ensure that our students are fully prepared for their future careers. Collegiality and interdisciplinary research and teaching are the main characteristics of the School. The school has incredible learning spaces with state-of-the-art labs and lecture halls on the Stag Hill campus in Guildford.

As part of our continued development and expansion within the School, we are seeking to appoint a tenured Reader (Associate Professor) in any area of ​​Pharmaceutical or Formulation Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the development of new undergraduate or postgraduate programs in the area of ​​pharmaceutical sciences and will ideally be an experienced program leader. Experience in developing industrial training opportunities would be an advantage. Applicants will also be expected to contribute to high quality teaching within the school. You will be responsible for lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes and project supervision, as well as academic duties including student assessment, grading and pastoral support.

The role also offers plenty of opportunities to develop your research career in Surrey and with proven experience you will need to establish your own independent research program using our excellent research facilities for pharmaceutical science based research.
